MATARIKI and lip balm learning with whaea Ali

                           MATARIKI WITH WHAEA ALI
Today we  had whaea Ali and with some kids from the collage to teach us about Matariki and how to make lip balm called Rongoa /medical ointment we also learnt a new Maori song  called No te Hohonutanga. First we got a strip of yarn and they were teaching up how to make the 9 stars of matariki  then, we made the lip balm, this is what you need coconut oil, bees wax and lavender and heat it up. After that we sang the new song No te hohonotanga we were only able to sing 3 little bits because we didn't have enough time. At about 12:30 we headed back in to class.
Have you made Rongoa before?

World war 1 letters.

                                        World war 1 letters

W.A.L.T put our-self's in other peoples shoes

We tried to imagine what it was like to be in the great war and how it felt to be like to be in harsh terrain. in the war they had to train in Egypt, that would have been boiling hot.Seeing so much destruction. The solders letters had to be positive and they couldn't tell them what really was like.
How would you feel if you were in the war?
