Outdoor Fun

During the first week of the holidays I had my 13th birthday.

Me and

my family planned to go spend the day over the coast diving,

fishing and spending time together. When we arrived at my nan's

house we geared up all our stuff onto the motorbikes because

the truck wouldn't make it up the maunga.

When we got over the hill me,

my dad and cousin grabbed the fishing rods and walked

over to the ledge of the rocks.

30 minutes later my dad got two big snappers, and sadly

I got nothing.

After 1 hour of fishing my dad and I geared up and went

for a kina and

paua dive. While my dad and I were in the water my mum,

aunty and cousin

were roasting marshmallows and cooking food for our dinner

since it was

5:00pm. After a long burning day in the sun we make our long

journey back

to nans. We got back to our house at 8:20pm, and as soon

as we walked in

the house we all sat on the couch and rested.

On a wet dark Friday morning me and my family all went up

to the Great

Expedition fishing competition  for the weekend.

As we drove into the area we see

heaps of cars, trucks and motorbikes all over the grassy field.

After being

told the rules of the competition we headed out to the

beach, little did we

know the sea was roaring and rough. We fished from

5:00pm to 1:00am.

When we left to go up to the prize giving there was a

huge line of cars and

trucks. It took 15 minutes to get through to the grounds.

Prize giving took

5 hours due to the amount of prizes and people there.

I really enjoyed my holidays.

Personification

It is dark, the sun has not yet risen. As the smooth clear waves crash againest the shore I sit queitly in peace sorounded by the soft sand.  As I slowly watch the sun rise the silence and peacefulness is broken. I see an enormaous fleet of war ships come straight towards me. As the soldiers disembark from the ships the sound of thunder roars throught the beach. The sound of gunfire is everywhere. As I look to my left I see a round steel plate tucked under the sand, Before I knew it I was flying in the air overlooking the maddness throughout the beach. As I hit the suface of the smooth sand my ears are bleeding, Theres yelling and screaming all around. As the sun slowly fades away into the distance, the fighting stops and the soldiers had successfully made it to enemy land and won the war. What an horrifice scene, no pebble should ever witness anything like that.

Nice Job Koby on your first paragraph it is very descriptive.

What was your greatest success?
My greatest success is improving so much in my school work during lockdown. I found that I didn't get distracted and I worked hard and took time on my work. I enjoyed learning from home because I was more determined to finish my work.

Rabbit Proof Fence

Rabbit proof fence

It is an ordinary day for me and my family. We all are enjoying a great afternoon.
As the sun went down me and my sister decided to play near the rabbit proof fence.
In the distance we could hear thunder in the bush.
My heart was  racing and I felt like falling asleep.
The thunder got closer and closer then my mum realized that it was
the bad people who stole kids.
She screamed at the top of her lungs “ RUN “.
So I ran but the thunder came soring past me and blocked me off from my path.

A big scary man approached me with a rope and tied my hands
together and put me in the big machine and just like that i lost everything.
We travelled a very long way.
After many days we arrived in a quiet ghost town and a lady in a white dress
came to me and took me to a room full of people that looked like me then the
lady left me in the room.

The next morning I woke up the same lady with a bell telling us to wake up.
Everyone got up and went to eat. They were all standing and started
speaking the lady's language, then ate like they had never eaten before.
After we ate it was time to play and get cleaned.
I missed my family and felt like running to them.
Then started to figure out a way to escape so I knew when everyone
left to play I could run for a while but I knew that the hunters would
catch me but I would need to be smart.

We all got released and I ran and ran. After 5 hours of running
I knew that there would be someone trying to track me down and
there was a hunter who never lost a child and he was very determined to find me.
It had been 3 weeks since I left and I was hungry.
I felt like I would fall and sleep but in the distance I could see a
fence with a house beside it then I saw my family then I got up and used
all my energy to get to them. Next thing I know I'm waking up beside my ,mum
and all my family.
